For bet than never is late*

On 30 July 2012 I went to my first ever Olympics and saw one country beat another in the first round of the Women's Basketball. Being keen, I stayed on for an hour or so to watch another beat yet another. (I'm sure Wikipedia could tell me which countries I saw. If it helps figure out which, then I can add that there were five people on each side and all of them were rather tall. Oh, and they had a ball too). I didn't really care what sport I got to see, I just wanted the opportunity to be a tiny little part of the Games and, most importantly, to take a look around the Olympic Park. So, four hundred and forty something days on, today seems as good a day as any to finally get round to posting some of the pictures I took. (Actually, that's a bit of a fib - I published a couple of them on Flickr a while ago, here and here).

*Apparently this is how 'better late than never' first appeared in print - almost 630 years ago in Chaucer's Canterbury Tales. Ministract tries to be an informative blog ;-)
