Square shots of the Square Mile

Only a square mile in size, the City of London is a microcosm of the UK and within its tiny confines we have everything - the good, the bad, the curious and the sad. The contrasts are staggering. According to Wikipedia, whilst the City is home to just 7,000 people, around 300,000 work within its boundaries. Think for a moment about the challenges and dynamics that this imbalance creates.

Amongst other things, this means it's a relatively quiet place at weekends and, therefore, a great place to go and take pictures if you like shooting the things I do. Yesterday I had some fun adding to a project I've got underway, photographing the chequered facades of buildings.

Can you see the man in one of the shots?

(By the way, apologies to any email subscribers who've noticed some weird goings on recently. I made what I thought was an improvement to the site... Sorry about that but it should be sorted now. And if anybody else would like to subscribe to the blog then please do! It's easy to do - just hit the subscribe button on the left side of this page. Many thanks!)
